I'm back! But not for long. Just got back all the prelim papers. Well, I wouldnt say I did exceptionally well, but there certainly was improvement and I was glad with that. Nothing much happened this month, other than a trip to comex fair and selling the pentium 4 computer. I shall post all my computer stuffs on zhngmycom.blogspot.com instead. In case specifications and overclocking bore you here.
Alright! Prelim results
1)English-C5. Wasn't much of a improvement for comprehension, but managed to do well for paper 1. 39/60. Guess its the best so far. Just passed paper 2. 25/50... I've got nothing to say
2)Higher Chinese-B4 Hmm. Up to my own standards. Not like the class practices which I used to score 50 something. This time, 65.5/110 and paper 1 @56.5/90
3)Humanities-A1! SEE SEE! GOT IMPROVE RIGHT? I am happy to know that my SEQs are solid already. scoring for deterrence for ss 9,10 and japan for history 10,10. Was quite sad cuz I've only I had interpreted the source well for history, I would have top the class. My inference for history L1-1 only... SS34,Hist36,moderation 5
4)Chemistry -A2 Jesse hurt my feelings sia. "After you come back from beijing you totally lost the sense of chemistry in you..." Like no link?
5)Biology-A2 A1 coming up for O's!
6)Physics-A1 I still want to argue that Physics was the easiest paper for the 3 sciences. To me la. Adriel thinks so also.
7)E.Math-A1 Nothing to say. An advice: sleep early for every math paper.
8)A.Math-B4 Did so badly... An advice: DO NOT SLEEP TOO LATE WHEN YOU KNOW THAT YOU HAVE AN AMATH PAPER THE FOLLOWING DAY.
So yea: L1R5-11
ELR2B2-10
L2R6-20
Best results in exams up to date.
O levels 25 more days.
And I'm slacking like no one's business....
Back!
The AMD fanboy decided to move on to intel
Looking at the fact that the core i7 920 has got lots of headroom for overclocking, I have decided to base my next build on x58 chipset, Socket LGA1366 Core I7 instead of the AMD 790FX chipset. Firstly, ICH10R Southbridge chipset owns the SB750. Looking at the fact that I'm using 2 SSDs in Raid 0, ICH10R would be preferred.
The benchmark for I7 920 after overclocking could even be better than 965(which costs a bomb). I7 920 is just 30 over bucks more than the phenom ii955. Of course, I would go for the I7 920.
Why Rampage II Extreme? Simply because of one thing. The Supreme FX soundcard given with the MB itself would be good looking(with the blue led lighting it up) with the case-cm690 pure.
Both SLI and Crossfire enabled. Why not? But it's really costly i must say.
Just got myself the CM690 pure and V8 CPU cooler. The next build's going to be IMBA. Not yet decided on which graphics card to get. Let's see what the next gen of ati 5000 series card can do and how much they costs first. Coming out with Win7 I think. After I5 comes out with the 1156 processors and I5 comes out next week then i'll decide again. But its either lynnfield or bloomfield. BYEBYE AMD. Hmmm. Cool eh?
Pictures up next! goodies from simlim
Limited Edition CM690 PURE. Internal all black. VERY NAISE CHASSIS
ONE SICK CPU COOLER. V8! Named after that engine. Lols
ModXstream Pro. Modular Power Supply. from OCZ. One Solid PSU
Hmmm. OCZ Solid Series SSD. Entry Level SSD. Maybe changing to vertex. I dont know? See If i have the $$. LOL
That's all!
Coming up next(Soon)
Core I7 920 with D0 stepping
Asus Rampage II extreme
2x OCZ Vertex 30GB
Sapphire 4890(or a new 5000 series card)
OCZ XTC Cooler Rev 2
OCZ DDR3 PC3-12800 Platinum Triple Channel
Computer Craze!
The O level examinations approaches and while everyone is studying and mugging hard in preparation for the examinations, I am not lacking behind too. Breezed passed the oral examinations today. I cannot judge my own performance. Is it good? or Is it bad? All I know that everything went smooth and fast. yes. Fast! Yi Jie went on before I did, but I completed the exam earlier than he. Is it a good sign or a bad sign? I don't know. But I just know that since its already over, it's time to finally work on the other subjects and secure the A1s.
Oh by the way, I got accepted for DPA in Ngee Ann Poly. So yea. I'll be attending classes in NP next year.
Went to SLS to check out the prices with liangyuan. Phenom IIs are tempting, but I7s are powerful. 4890 are fast, but 5000 series coming out. I want them all. (after the o levels) But I have come to a build that suits myself as a power user, a system for benchmarking and overclocking. Selling this current mainboard and processor to timothy at the end of the year. So I should have some spare cash working on the new build. A new name for the build? Not yet decided, but words like 'dragon' and 'suicune' did pass through my mind.
Current most likely build to be something like this.
PSU: MODXTREME PRO 600W
M/B: MSI 790FX GD70
DVD DRIVE:ANY RANDOM DRIVE WITH LIGHTSCRIBE/DVD-RW
CHASSIS:COOLER MASTER CM690 PURE-LIMITED EDITION!
RAM:CORSAIR DOMINATOR WITH THAT NICE NICE FANS
CPU:AMD PHENOM II 955-TO BE OCED
GPU:SAPPHIRE 4890 CROSSFIRE
HDD:OCZ SOLID 30GB X2 IN RAID 0, HITACHI 320GB JBOD
CPU COOLER: COOLER MASTER V8
CCFL:DARK BLUE AND GREEN
+ NAISE NAISE CABLE MANAGEMENT =THE ULTIMATE PC FOR AN AMD FANBOY LIKE ME
yes. I'm an amd fanboy
But o levels first. haizzz.
No wonder just now cannot sleep. keep thinking about computers. haha
I need to apologise to the readers out there because I have decided to fully focus on my studies first. I'll blog only when I have the time.
I'm really demoralised right now because I've just realised I have left "variables to be kept constant" out for the Bio Spa just now.... I wrote down the words " Variables to be kept constant" and added numbers 1) and 2) but I did not fill in the blanks. Really emo now. Physics tomorrow... I'll just need to be more careful...
Is giving us so much time practices that useful? I like time practices. It really allows me to improve and get used to the exam conditions. But when doing timed practices in class, the atmosphere is less tense. I'm so used to this atmosphere that when I go into a real examination, I have a dilemma. Is it a real exam or is it a timed practice? I panic... I fail to think... I cannot calm down...
English paper. Bio spa. I don't know what will be next one the list.
I've decided to do more for english...
I'll be back real soon. Bye people!
yeltsin is one cool politician
According to a book by Strobe Talbott, the Clinton administration's top Russian official, Yeltsin had polished off most of a bottle of wine at lunch and insisted on an after-lunch drink. He wanted nothing to do with the sweet dessert wine put before him. He wanted cognac.
When they appeared before the press corps, Yeltsin went on the attack, directing his fire at a media that he said had predicted his summit with Clinton would turn into a disaster over Bosnia.
"Now, for the first time, I can tell you that you're a disaster," he said, pointing directly into the camera.
There was a brief pause, and then Clinton started laughing. "Just make sure you get the attribution right," he said, referring to the press. And he kept on laughing, and Yeltsin finally joined in, too. Clinton's laugh was so loud and long that Talbott said it did not appear convincing.
"I sensed that Clinton was trying to cover for Yeltsin," Talbott wrote. "Perhaps he figured that if both presidents seemed to be clowning around, there would be less of a focus in the news stories on Yeltin's inebriation."
After it was over, Talbott reported that Clinton soothed him about the performance.
Clinton said, according to Talbott: "You know, we've got to remember that Yeltsin's got his problems, but he's a good man. He's trying to do his best in the face of a lot of problems back home. I think we're going to get this Bosnia deal done, and it's harder for him than it is for me. I've got problems, but nothing like this. We can't ever forget that Yeltsin drunk is better than most of the alternatives sober."

I can finally understand why Ms Sathi said that Khrushchev wanted to preserve the communist way of life. Because when the eastern came to know of the western daily lives, so many fled there and soon words passed on and everyone wanted to flee there. See the video and you'll understand
There are a lot of videos on youtube that may make you a lot more interested.
Thanks Yingchen!
Thank you yingchen!
EDITED
As the shuttlecock flew over the right side of the net and tumbled over to my side of the court, I reached my racket out to return the shot by executing a deception cross net shot, sending the shuttlecock back to my opponent's court. He gathered his energy in his legs and pushed himself forward, diving towards the shuttlecock while swinging his racket forward in an attempt to return the shot back into my court. His attempt failed as the shuttlecock flew right into the net and landed with a bounce or two back on his side of the court.
Everyone was training hard for the upcoming nationals badminton championships again. I was one of the main players in the team and wanted to win that year's championship title badly. My school had consecutively won the title for five years and no one wished to end the winning spree. The team's hard work produced satisfying results in the qualifying rounds of the tournament as we breezed past the matches without much effort. However, the problem came when we reached the finals of the tournament. We were against our rival school who had been eyeing for our championship titles for years. This year, they were prepared to take us on and were determined to win the tournament.
In their red jerseys, I could see the familiar faces of the players from our rival school. I gave a wave to them to propose a friendly intention but failed. Their faces were filled with determination as I could almost see veins rising from the head whenever they bit hard. The twelve of them walked in with a vigor so fierce that my heart skipped a beat. Despite the fact that I was a little nervous, I led my team for our routine warm up. I knew that everyone was determined to win from the serious looks on their face. There was no expression yet I could feel the desire to win the matches.
"Ahhh!" yelled my first singles player as he fell onto the ground before his match started. He had a muscle tear in his right thigh and it was so bad that it developed a bruise. There was a change of plan as the first singles was unable to play his match and a walkover was given to our opponents. The lost of the second match simply demoralised the team further. The third and fourth matches brought hope back to us as they emerged victorious. We were almost at the verge of breaking into tears due to possible circumstances of losing the title. The last and deciding match was up to me. Everyone had their hopes pinned on me. However, pressure pushed me hard down onto the ground as I realised that I would be playing against the best player in the opposing team.
I went to the washroom to prepare myself. My heart was thumping so quickly that I could almost hear the beat. I reached my hands deep into the left pocket of my shorts and slowly retrieved a packet of steroids. It was a hard decision for me. The steroids were used for my regular training sessions to boost my performance and it would definitely give me a boost in the match later. However, steroids were banned from the tournament. I gave it a second thought but in the end, I thought I would not have won the match without it. Everyone would jeer and blame me for the lost. I could not afford to lose! Popping one of the pills into my mouth and swallowing it immediately, I could almost feel an immediate rush of energy into my hands and legs as I rushed out into the courts for the start of my match.
I won the match! I won the deciding point! My team won the title! Everyone was cheering for me as I could hear repeated calls of my name. I pushed my hands into the air with two tightly clenched fists to show my happiness. My team mates came rushing towards me, after which they carried me and thrust me into the air. I was over the moon.
However, it could all soon be over. The opposing team's coach requested for a dope test because he found tablets lying in the gents. The organising committee agreed to his request and everyone had to undergo the urine test. I was so guilt ridden and a sense of uneasiness filled me as I underwent the test. However, to my surprise, I passed the test and so did everyone else in my team! No one knew the relief I felt deep in my heart. However, I came to my senses that what I did was seriously wrong. I did not have any sportsmanship. The victory was a fake . I could not have won the match without those steroids. On the way back home, even though the medal shone brightly under the sun, I was too ashamed to face myself.
As I was unpacking my badminton equipment from the bag, I saw the packet of pills. Upon closer inspection, I realised that the label on it stated " Vitamin C Pills". Those pills were prepared by my mother for the sore throat I had! The realisation was followed by was a great laugh which simply brightened my day again as I knew that I had actually won the match fair and square. I realised the importance of sportsmanship in that split second and knew that I was indeed in the wrong for having had the thoughts of doping. It turned out to be a great lesson for me as I moved on to become a better player and a worthwhile sportsman.
thanks again!
Sportsmanship
One of the crappiest essay I have ever written. LOL. My eng not very good. Qing duo duo bao han.
